Dave Patterson a firefighter who works on D Platoon and his wife Kari was recently delivered news that changed their lives forever.  Dave and Kari’s 23 month old son Tucker was diagnosed with Leigh’s Syndrome IV a severe form of Mitochondrial Disease.   Mitochondrial Disease has a degradation of motor skills.  There is no treatment or cure for this horrible disease.  The majority of adults with Mitochondrial Disease carry on managing their condition and their life expectancy not changed.  The sad news is that the lives of children who are infected with this disease are usually shortened and life expectancy is between one and three years from onset.
